Kay Starr Wilder

This project is about the Starr family history and the allied families.
Like a lot of families we know some stories or folklore of various family members or those passed down through the ages.  So when a family grows so much and time wears on some of those stories are forgotten.
Hopefully this will help put together some information that you held dear and who it applies to, how they are related and much more.

The Starr family like many they are close, being such a large family they are closer than most.  That characteristic, comes from parents who loved their family, and passed along the glue that holds it together.

When I met Kay, over 27 years ago, I can't believe how long that's been, anyway, since I met Kay and met many of the other family members, I learned this is one this group of people, are in contact with each other often, when one has trouble they are there for each other.  Just like their Mama taught them.  She surely did it with grace as me as an outsider, sees just how much love they have for one another, and how when a family member close or far, are in need they are there, to the point, that even when the children have no where to go, they will scoop them up and take them home with them.

It's something I think is getting lost in society, but is held strong in this family.  It's heart warming to see and feel the closeness of all.  .

Kay wanted to honor her family with learning more about them, she joked how she'd like to find a rich relative or famous family member.  Kay hire me, Diane Pinion, to do some digging.  I have spent months digging out the documents, verifying, assuring I have done the most accurate search available right now.  There are some areas in this short of time, since Christmas, that will require more research as there is not enough information available at this date, but if you keep checking over time, it can be found.  Some people do go to the locations of their ancestors and find other documents, pictures and even meet family they didn't know about, that's a great possibility for the future.

I hope as this continues to get posted that you understand how wonderful, crazy, interesting this family is through the ages.  To learn more that you can pass on to the children, grandchildren.

One thing you will notice there are 3 general areas this family lived in many of the branches.
1.  Mingo County, West Virginia

2.  Pike County, Kentucky

3. Surry County, North Carolina

I hope you enjoy the research.  It's laid out in a Time line so that you can find where an ancestor was to dig out more if you want to.

If you find something incorrect or wish to know more, ask me or you can hunt for yourself.  Be careful though.... it's addicting.
